Labour and Employment Agency of BiH in official visit to the Federal Service for Labour and Employment of the Russian Federation



In the period from 17^th to 20^th June 2019 a delegation of the Labour and Employment Agency of BiH headed by Muamer Bandić, Director of the Agency, was in the official visit to the Federal Service for Labour and Employment of the Russian Federation. It was the first visit in the framework of the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding signed last year by the two mentioned institutions.

The focus of the visit was “The Russian experience in promoting employment of people, including youth and socially vulnerable groups”.  Sankt-Petersburg was chosen as the host city because of its positive results achieved in relation to the selected topic.

During the official visit, Director of the Labour and Employment Agency of BiH met, inter alia, with Mr. Denis Vasilyev Aleksandrovich, Deputy Director of the Federal Service for Labour and Employment of the Russian Federation, and thanked him for the hospitality and the presented models and practices applied in the work of the Federal Service for Labour and Employment.   

“The special focus of our visit was on activities in youth employment and activation given the fact that this category, despite all the measures taken by public employment services, remains amongst the most vulnerable groups in the labour market of Bosnia and Herzegovina.  This visit and the presented modes of work are a good guideline to follow for our employment services and the Labour and Employment Agency of BiH will transfer these new experiences to Entity and cantonal employment services”, said Director Bandić. 

We remind that the mentioned cooperation was established on the basis of the legal obligations of the Labour and Employment Agency of BiH in framework of the international cooperation with other labour market institutions.
