Amendments to the Agreement on Social Insurance between Slovenia and BiH

Upon adoption of amendments unemployed persons who have permission for temporary residence and who were prevented from receiving their remunerations can register themselves at Institute of Employment In Slovenia and submit a request for remained/unused remuneration, not later than 30 days after expiration of the reason for inaction.

Unemployed persons who are capable of working and are active job seekers and:

• are not working,
• are not self-employed,
• are not employers
• do not have health and social insurance from employer,
• are not retired,
• are not pupils, students, or part of the process of adult education and still have not turned 26.

Deadline for submitting a request for remained remuneration begins on the day of cessation of the reason for prevention of the right, namely:

• for unemployed persons with valid permission for temporary residence in Slovenia, with date of adopting the amendment, and that is September 2nd 2011. It means that deadline for registering at Employment Institute for exercising the right to remuneration is October 3rd 2011!
• for unemployed persons who do not have valid permission for residence in Slovenia, as of the day when they get permission for stay (from day of issuing permission for temporary stay).

In case of submitting the request late (later than 30 days) they won't be able to exercise the right to the rest of remuneration.

Unemployed persons have to register themselves within 30 days at the Institute of Employment if they want to receive the rest of the payment.

The Institute will, in line with official duty, get information on permission for residence and its dispatch.

Unemployed person shall be payed monthly amount of the remained payment if he/she fulfils the conditions in line with regulations: to be an active job seeker, accepts relevant job offers, does not refuse to sign the draft of employment, does not refuse inclusion into programme of active employment policy, does not breach the commitments from the agreement into programme, does not work in the grey market. The right to payment ceases in case of getting employment, self-employment, retirement and in some other cases in line with provisions.

The institute shall decide upon requests through administrative proceedings and issue a decision on remained payments.

In times of receiving financial benefits unemployed person shall be involved in obligatory social insurance in Slovenia (health and social insurance, insurance for unemployment and rights of parents)
