Nedžad Jusić, President of the Euro Rom, Roma association from Tuzla, and Adnan Delić, Director of the Labour and Employment Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, have signed today the Memorandum of Understanding between the Labour and Employment Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Euro Rom association with the aim of improving the implementation of the Roma Employment Action Plan.  The MoU provides for a continuous exchange of information on implementation of the Roma Employment Action Plan, analysis of effects achieved so far in Roma employment and self-employment schemes in BiH and identification of obstacles to their more efficient implementation, as well as constraints and obstacles impeding implementation of the Roma Employment Action Plan in general.

The representatives in the meeting also discussed the cooperation between the Labour and Employment Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Euro Rom association in projects designed to increase Roma employment.  It was agreed that more activities should be channelled towards retraining and skills-upgrading of Roma population funded through IPA and EC programmes intended for Roma and their employment.  Adnan Delić, Director of the Agency, said that the Roma employment support schemes implemented by entity public employment services and the Employment Service of the BiH Brčko District were one of the most concrete ways to help Roma population.  He also said that the Agency would try to help to the Roma non-governmental sector in whatever way in line with its competencies to improve implementation of the Roma Employment Action Plan.
