A delegation of the Labour and Employment Agency of BiH, led by Muamer Bandić, Director, is staying this week in the Federal Republic of Germany in order to gain insight into the working conditions of our citizens working in Germany who had been hired by Slovenian companies on the basis of the interstate Agreement on employment of citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the Republic of Slovenia. Among the companies visited by the delegation of the Labour and Employment Agency of BiH was Baugroup d.o.o. from Ljubljana which had hired more than a hundred construction workers from BiH. On that occasion the delegation talked to the workers from BiH who all said to be satisfied with the salary, their status and the treatment by employers.
“Since the start of the implementation of the Agreement with Slovenia, this country has employed 30 000 our workers through the mediation services of the Labour and Employment Agency of BiH. Some of them, as is the case here, are temporarily posted to the FR Germany and it is our obligation to occasionally check the working conditions of our workers. Thanks to the company we have visited today, we had the opportunity to talk to a large number of our citizens and learn how the implementation of the Agreement looks like from their perspective. We are very satisfied with what we have seen and glad that the workers are satisfied with their jobs”, said the Director of the Labour and Employment Agency of BiH.
During the week the delegation of the Labour and Employment Agency of BiH will visit other companies that hired a significant number of our citizens. Special emphasis will be on the checks of the working conditions, i.e. whether the workers enjoy all their employment-related rights and whether they have the same status as the domestic workers.
“The visits to employers hiring our citizens and our talking to the workers are a good indication of our serious approach to labour migration. In this way, we take preventive action, i.e. prevent the cases of violation of workers’ rights and we intend to continue with this practice in the future”, said Director Bandić.
