Representatives of the Labour and Employment Agency of BiH held a working meeting today with a delegation of the German Federal Employment Agency  to analyse activities undertaken so far in implementation of the Arrangement on Mediation in Fixed-term Employment of Workers from Bosnia and Herzegovina in the Federal Republic of Germany and to discuss further cooperation.  The German delegation consisted of Ms. Monika Varnhagen, Director of the International Placement Services (ZAV) of the German Federal Employment Agency, Ms. Annette Tigges-Thies, Head of Division for Labour Migration and Work Permits at the ZAV, Mr. Dominik Ziller, member of the Management Board of the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) and Director General for Migration. The BiH delegation consisted of Directors of the Labour and Employment Agency of BiH and the Federal Employment Service and their fellow staff members.

Both sides expressed their satisfaction with the implementation of the Arrangement and the LEA BiH was given credit for its efficient work.  As significant shortage of health care workers in the German labour market still persists, it has been agreed to continue with the implementation of the above Arrangement so that relevant candidates can apply for health care worker jobs in Germany either through the Public Call or the so-called named request procedure.   The pre-agreed requirements of the new public call have been reaffirmed, the only difference being the fact that the Call will be constantly open for applications and there will be no limits on the number of workers who can take their employment in Germany.

Representatives of the LEA BiH have informed the German delegation that the new public call had already been prepared in cooperation with entity employment services waiting to be published on 10 October on the LEA BiH web page, as well as by all three public employment services and the cantonal employment offices.
