Call for student applications for summer jobs in the Federal Republic of Germany in 2013

The Labour and Employment Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in cooperation with the International Placement Services (ZAV) of the Federal Employment Agency of the Federal Republic of Germany, organizes each year the Summer Jobs Programme during summer vacation.  The Programme is intended for full-time students enrolled in universities in Bosnia and Herzegovina.  In accordance with the arrangement between the above partner organisations, the approved quota for Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2013 is 200 students, out of which 1/3 constitute the students enrolled in universities in Republika Srpska and 2/3 the students of universities in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Eligibility requirements 

  • The right to apply is limited to full-time students enrolled in:

a)    the first, second and third year of studying under the four-year study programme,

b)    the first and the second year of studying under the three-year study programme,

c)    students enrolled in the first year of the second cycle study programme (if the overall duration is two years) and

d)    students enrolled in the first year of two-year post secondary school.

  • Students may not be younger than 18 and not older than 35
  • They must have excellent to very good German language skills (at least 3 years’ previous German learning experience).
  • Students with work experience will have an advantage.
  • Students who specify to have the driver's licence must be able to drive the corresponding vehicle. 
  • Students must be willing to work for at least two months in Germany (the maximum employment period is three months).
  • Students must be flexible, mobile and ready to work anywhere in Germany.
  • Students requesting to work in a specific town or region will not be taken in consideration.

 

Application procedure 

The students who meet the above requirements can apply in the following way:

  • students of universities in the Federation of BiH can apply in the Cantonal Employment Office responsible for the region of the respective university head office,
  • students of universities in Republika Srpska can apply in the Regional Office of the RS Employment Service responsible for the region of the respective university head office,
  • students from the Brčko District of BiH studying in the Federation of BiH or Republika Srpska can apply in the Cantonal Employment Office and Regional Office of the RS Employment Service respectfully, responsible for the region of the respective university head office, or in the Employment Service of the Brčko District of BiH.

The students can also apply directly in the partner organisation of ZAV in Bosnia and Herzegovina:

Note: When applying for the Programme, the students must provide the following information: name and head office of their faculty, the total number of semesters required for completion of a degree, the number of validated semesters and their contact information (phone and e-mail address). 

 

The application deadline is Friday, 07 December 2012Students will be subsequently invited to take a German language test, which will be organised in the second half of December 2012 in the premises of the Labour and Employment Agency of BiH.  Personal identification card and student log-book are to be presented before taking the test.

The German test will cover the following skills:

  • reading skills,
  • writing skills,
  • listening comprehension skills and
  • conversation skills.

Application

The students who have passed the German test and meet all other requirements will complete the application form (Bewerbungsbogen) in two original copies and submit the enrolment certificate (Immatrikulationsbescheinigung) duly completed, signed and stamped by the relevant faculty.

ZAV will only take in consideration the complete and duly completed documents sent by the Labour and Employment Agency of BiH, their partner organisation in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The complete application includes:

  • 2 application forms (Bewerbungsbogen),
  • 2 passport-size photos,
  • certificate of enrolment (Immatrikulationsbescheinigung), duly completed, signed and stamped by the relevant faculty,
  • German language certificate, duly completed, signed and stamped by a German teacher.
Students who want to be employed by an employer in the FR Germany they already know cannot apply under this Programme.  In such cases, employer sends the application directly to the International Placement Services (ZAV) in Bonn.
