Labour market overview, situation as of 30 November 2022

The number of unemployed people registered with public employment services in Bosnia and Herzegovina on 30 November 2022 was 354 700. As compared to a month earlier, this number was lower by 2 612 persons or 0.73%. Out of the total number of job seekers, 206 099 or 58.11% were women. In comparison to the same period of the year earlier, unemployment in BiH was lower by 23 379 persons or 6.12%.
Unemployment decreased in Federation of BiH by 1 201 persons (0.42%), in Republika Srpska by 1 291 persons (1.95) and in the Brčko District of BiH by 120 persons (2.40%).
Job seekers by qualification levels, situation as of 30 November 2022:
98 991 unskilled workers or 27.91%, of whom 58 818 (28.54%) women;
5 489 semi-skilled workers – lower educational background or 1.55%, of whom 2 817 (1.37%) women;
112 106 skilled workers or 31.61%, of whom 53 447 (25.93%) women;
1 041 highly skilled workers or 0.29%, of whom 217 (0.11%) women;
101 669 with secondary education or 28.66%, of whom 65 919 (31.98%) women;
5 945 with two-year post-secondary education or 1.68%, of whom 3 908 (1.90%) women;
29 459 with university degree or 8.31%, of whom 20 973 (10.18%) women.
A total of 20 130 people were deregistered from public employment services in November, of whom 9 623 were women. Out of this number, there were 8 662 flows into employment, of which 4 447 were women.
At the same time employment terminated for 8 603 people, of whom 4 281 were women. In the same period, employers reported 3 171 vacancies.
According to BiH Agency for Statistics, the number of people in employment in BiH in October 2022 stood at 846 375, of whom 378 276 were women. In comparison to September 2022, the number of people in employment was same and the number of employed women increased by 0.2%.
Registered unemployment rate for October 2022 was 29.7% and was 0.1 percentage point lower than in September 2022.
