Muamer Bandić, Director of Labour and Employment Agency of BiH takes over the presidency of CPESSEC



The Managerial and Expert Conferences of the Centre of Public Employment Services of Southeast European Countries (CPESSEC) were held on 24^th and 25^th September 2018 in Belgrade on the topic of “Promotion of Active Employment Policy Measures – Training, Vocational Training and Further Training through Various Educational Programmes”. A delegation of the Labour and Employment Agency of BiH took an active part in the conferences.

The conference of heads of CPESSEC members was held on the second day when Zoran Martinović, Director of the National Employment Service of the Republic of Serbia and the host of the conference, handed over the presidency of CPESSEC to Muamer Bandić, Director of the Labour and Employment Agency of BiH. 

On that occasion Director Bandić said that it was a great honour for him to take over the presidency of CPESSEC on behalf of the Labour and Employment Agency of BiH. “Given that Bosnia and Herzegovina is one of the initiators of this cooperation and the establishing of CPESSEC, I feel a deep commitment and responsibility for the future operation of CPESSEC. Despite our obligations in other initiatives and networks, it is necessary to remain committed to the idea of CPESSEC and its basic principles and these are: developing of policies and measures targeting full employment, increasing quality of work, strengthening social inclusion, promoting equal access to jobs, activating the working-age population and increasing employment of youth and other hard-to-employ groups in the labour market”, Bandić said.

CPESSEC was established in 2006 in Sofia, Bulgaria and currently has 10 members. It has contributed to the development of cooperation among labour market institutions in the region, the signing of numerous bilateral agreements and the strengthening of capacities of CPESSEC members in labour market governance. Each member country has an obligation to preside over CPESSEC for a period of one year and to organize during that year one managerial and one expert conference.
