The number of persons registered as unemployed in Bosnia and Herzegovina as of 30 November 2018 amounted to 435,358. Compared to the previous month, unemployment decreased by 2,425 persons or 0.55%.

Unemployment decreased in the Federation of BiH by 232 persons (0.07%), in Republika Srpska by 1,793 persons (1.81%) and in Brčko District of BiH by 400 persons (4.04%).

The structure of job seekers as of 30 November 2018 by educational level was as follows:

118,913 unskilled workers (27.31%),

7,180 semi-skilled workers (1.65%),

139,728 skilled workers (32.10%),

1,914 highly skilled workers (0.44%),

1,040 workers with primary education (0.24%),

123,522 persons with secondary education (28.37%),

6,566 persons with two-year post-secondary education (1.51%) and

36,495 persons with university education (8.38%).

The largest share in registered unemployment continues to be made up of persons with third level of education: skilled workers (32.10%) and workers with secondary education (28.37%).

The total outflow from unemployment registers in November amounted to 16,950 persons, out of which 9,976 persons due to employment.

At the same time, there were 8,420 persons whose employment terminated and 3,770 vacancies notified by employers. 

According to data of the BiH Agency for Statistics, the number of persons in paid employment in legal entities in BiH amounted to 813,205 in October 2018, out of which 346,520 were women.  The total number of persons in paid employment in legal entities was increased by 0.6% from September 2018.

Registered unemployment rate in October 2018 was 35.0% which is a drop of 0.3 percentage point in comparison to September 2018.
