Overview of Labour Market Situation as of 31 December 2019

The number of persons registered as unemployed in Bosnia and Herzegovina as of 31 December 2019 amounted to 401,846. Compared to the previous month, unemployment increased by 487 persons or 0.12%.
Unemployment decreased in the Federation of BiH by 569 persons (0.19%) and in Brčko District of BiH by 89 persons (1.27%), but increased in Republika Srpska by 1,145 persons (1.33%).
The structure of job seekers as of 31 December 2019 by educational level was as follows:
110,770 unskilled workers (27.57%),
7,237 semi-skilled workers (1.80%),
126,988 skilled workers (31.60%),
1,577 highly skilled workers (0.39%),
114,053 persons with secondary education (28.38%),
6,622 persons with two-year post-secondary education (1.65%) and
34,599 persons with university education (8.61%).
The largest share in registered unemployment continues to be made up of persons with third level of education: skilled workers (31.60%) and workers with secondary education (28.38%).
The total outflow from unemployment registers in December amounted to 16,589 persons, out of which 9,651 persons due to employment.
At the same time, there were 10,493 persons whose employment terminated and 5,235 vacancies notified by employers.
According to data of the BiH Agency for Statistics, the number of persons in paid employment in legal entities in BiH amounted to 831,126 in November 2019, out of which 359,192 were women. The total number of persons in paid employment in legal entities was increased by 0.1% from October 2019.
Registered unemployment rate in November 2019 and it is the same as in October 2019.
