Overview of labour market situation on 28 February 2015

On 28 February 2015 550,095 persons were registered as unemployed in Bosnia and Herzegovina. As compared to the previous month, the number of the unemployed was down by 1.072 persons or 0.19%.
Unemployment was down in the Federation of BiH by 1,346 persons (0.34%), but was increased in the Republika Srpska by 133 persons (0.09%) in the Brčko District BiH by 141 persons (1.14%)
The largest share in registered unemployment is still made up of persons with third level of education – skilled workers with 34.60% and unskilled workers with 27.06%.
The total outflow from PES registers in February amounted to 13,577 persons, out of which 7,864 persons were employed.
At the same time, there were 5,893 persons whose employment terminated while employers registered with PES 2,779 vacancies in this period.
According to data of the BiH Agency for Statistics, in January 2015 the number of persons in paid employment in legal entities in BiH amounted to 706,971 persons, out of which 293,716 were women. As compared to December 2014, the total number of persons in paid employment in legal entities was down by 0.1%.
