On 31 December 2013 553,481 persons were registered as unemployed in Bosnia and Herzegovina. As compared to the previous month, the number of the unemployed was increased by 2,007 persons or 0.36%.

Unemployment was down in the Brcko District BiH by 498 persons (3.81%) but was increased in Federation of BiH by 1,717 persons (0.44%) and in the Republika Srpska by 788 persons (0.53%).

In occupational structure of job seekers as on 31 December 2013 there were 154,814 unskilled workers or 27.97%, 10,682 semi-skilled workers or 1.93%, 191,046 skilled workers or 35.52%, 3,559 highly skilled workers or 0.64%, 1,660 workers with primary education or 0.30%, 144.607 with secondary education or 26.13%, 7,805 with higher non-university education or 1.41% and 39,309 with university education or 7.10%.

The total outflow from PES registers in December amounted to 12,402 persons, out of which 5,795 persons were employed.

At the same time, there were 7,477 persons whose employment terminated while employers registered with PES 2,348 vacancies in this period.

According to data of the BiH Agency for Statistics, in November 2013 the number of persons in paid employment in legal entities in BiH amounted to 687,877 persons, out of which 283,260 were women. As compared to October 2013, the total number of persons in paid employment in legal entities was increased by 0.5%.

Registered unemployment rate in November 2013 was 44.5%.
