Overview of Labour Market Situation On 31 December 2014

On 31 December 2014 547,134 persons were registered as unemployed in Bosnia and Herzegovina. As compared to the previous month, the number of the unemployed was down by 185 persons or 0.03%.
Unemployment was down in the Federation of BiH by 410 persons (0.11%), but was increased in Republika Srpska by 102 persons (0.07%) and Brčko District BiH by 123 persons (1.02%).
In occupational structure of job seekers as on 31 December 2014 there were 148,320 unskilled workers or 27.11%, 10,089 semi-skilled workers or 1.84%, 188,829 skilled workers or 34.51%, 3,179 highly skilled workers or 0.58%, 1,561 workers with primary education or 0.29%, 146,767 with secondary education or 26.82%, 7,515 with higher non-university education or 1.37% and 40,875 with university education or 7.47%.
The largest share in registered unemployment is still made up of persons with third level of education – skilled workers with 34.51% and unskilled workers with 27.11%.
The total outflow from PES registers in December amounted to 14,850 persons, out of which 7,380 persons were employed.
At the same time, there were 7,380 persons whose employment terminated while employers registered with PES 2,531 vacancies in this period.
According to data of the BiH Agency for Statistics, in November 2014 the number of persons in paid employment in legal entities in BiH amounted to 707,556 persons, out of which 291,630 were women. As compared to October 2014, the total number of persons in paid employment in legal entities was increased by 0.1%.
Registered unemployment rate in November 2014 was 43.6%. As compared to October 2014 it was same.
