On 31 January 2015 551,167 persons were registered as unemployed in Bosnia and Herzegovina. As compared to the previous month, the number of the unemployed was increased by 4,033 persons or 0.74%.

Unemployment was increased in the Federation of BiH by 2,868 persons (0.73%), in Republika Srpska by 1,032 persons (0.72%) and Brčko District BiH by 133 persons (1.09%).

In occupational structure of job seekers as on 31 January 2015 there were 148,965 unskilled workers or 27.03%, 10,144 semi-skilled workers or 1.84%, 190,615 skilled workers or 34.58%, 3,203 highly skilled workers or 0.58%, 1,562 workers with primary education or 0.28%, 147,480 with secondary education or 26.76%, 7,566 with higher non-university education or 1.37% and 41,632 with university education or 7.55%.

The largest share in registered unemployment is still made up of persons with third level of education – skilled workers with 34.58% and unskilled workers with 27.03%.

The total outflow from PES registers in January amounted to 11,962 persons, out of which 6,330 persons were employed.

At the same time, there were 8,246 persons whose employment terminated while employers registered with PES 2,149 vacancies in this period.

According to data of the BiH Agency for Statistics, in December 2014 the number of persons in paid employment in legal entities in BiH amounted to 707,725 persons, out of which 293,307 were women. As compared to November 2014, the total number of persons in paid employment in legal entities was same.

Registered unemployment rate in December 2014 was 43.6%. As compared to November 2014 it was same.
