On 31 July 2014 548,612 persons were registered as unemployed in Bosnia and Herzegovina. As compared to the previous month, the number of the unemployed was increased by 3,250 persons or 0.60%.

Unemployment was increased in the Federation of BiH by 2,456 persons (0.63%) in Republika Srpska by 678 persons (0.46%) and Brčko District BiH by 116 persons (0.96%).

In occupational structure of job seekers as on 31 July 2014 there were 150,479 unskilled workers or 27.43%, 10,303 semi-skilled workers or 1.88%, 188,149 skilled workers or 34.30%, 3,336 highly skilled workers or 0.61%, 1,627 workers with primary education or 0.30%, 145,797 with secondary education or 26.58%, 7,802 with higher non-university education or 1.42% and 41,119 with university education or 7.50%.

The largest share in registered unemployment is still made up of persons with third level of education – skilled workers with 34.30% and unskilled workers with 27.43%.

The total outflow from PES registers in July amounted to 16,079 persons, out of which 9,567 persons were employed.

At the same time, there were 7,082 persons whose employment terminated while employers registered with PES 3,285 vacancies in this period.

According to data of the BiH Agency for Statistics, in June 2014 the number of persons in paid employment in legal entities in BiH amounted to 700,659 persons, out of which 289,682 were women. As compared to May 2014, the total number of persons in paid employment in legal entities remained the same.

Registered unemployment rate in June 2014 was 43.8%. As compared to May 2014 it was increased by 0.1 percentage points.
