Overview of Labour Market Situation as of 30 April 2016

The number of persons registered as unemployed in Bosnia and Herzegovina as of 30 April 2016 amounted to 524,061. Compared to the previous month, unemployment decreased by 6,309 persons or 1.19%.
Unemployment decreased in the Federation of BiH by 4,953 persons (1.29%) in Republika Srpska by 1,163 persons (0.86%) and in Brčko District of BiH by 193 persons (1.64%).
The structure of job seekers as of 30 April 2016 by educational level was as follows:
141,026 unskilled workers (26.91%),
9,186 semi-skilled workers (1.75%),
176,186 skilled workers (33.62%),
2,762 highly skilled workers (0.53%),
1,440 workers with primary education (0.27%),
144,242 persons with secondary education (27.52%),
7,378 persons with two-year post-secondary education (1.41%) and
41,841 persons with university education (7.98%).
The largest share in registered unemployment continues to be made up of persons with third level of education: skilled workers (33.62%) and workers with secondary education (27.52%).
The total outflow from unemployment registers in April amounted to 18,798 persons, out of which 12,717 persons due to employment.
At the same time, there were 5,879 persons whose employment terminated and 5,646 vacancies notified by employers.
According to data of the BiH Agency for Statistics, the number of persons in paid employment in legal entities in BiH amounted to 721,633 in March 2016, out of which 299,420 were women. The total number of persons in paid employment in legal entities was increased by 0.5% from February 2016.
Registered unemployment rate in March 2016 was 42.4% which is a drop of 0.4 percentage point in comparison to February 2016.
