Overview of Labour Market Situation as of 30 June 2016

The number of persons registered as unemployed in Bosnia and Herzegovina as of 30 June 2016 amounted to 518,034. Compared to the previous month, unemployment decreased by 823 persons or 0.16%.
Unemployment increased in the Federation of BiH by 823 persons (0.05%) and unemployment decreased in Republika Srpska by 938 persons (0.70%) and in Brčko District of BiH by 55 persons (0.48%).
The structure of job seekers as of 30 June 2016 by educational level was as follows:
139,656 unskilled workers (26.96%),
9,033 semi-skilled workers (1.74%),
172,990 skilled workers (33.39%),
2,703 highly skilled workers (0.52%),
1,419 workers with primary education (0.27%),
143,908 persons with secondary education (27.78%),
7,240 persons with two-year post-secondary education (1.40%) and
41,085 persons with university education (7.93%).
The largest share in registered unemployment continues to be made up of persons with third level of education: skilled workers (33.39%) and workers with secondary education (27.78%).
The total outflow from unemployment registers in June amounted to 18,397 persons, out of which 11,990 persons due to employment.
At the same time, there were 8,219 persons whose employment terminated and 7,185 vacancies notified by employers.
According to data of the BiH Agency for Statistics, the number of persons in paid employment in legal entities in BiH amounted to 724,833 in May 2016, out of which 299,586 were women. The total number of persons in paid employment in legal entities was increased by 0.1% from April 2016.
Registered unemployment rate in Mayl 2016 was 41.7% which is a drop of 0.3 percentage point in comparison to April 2016.
