Labour market overview, situation as of 30 September 2022

The number of unemployed people registered with public employment services in Bosnia and Herzegovina on 30 September 2022 was 356 531. As compared to a month earlier, this number was lower by 3 903 persons or 1.08%. Out of the total number of job seekers, 206 388 or 57.89% were women. In comparison to the same period of the year earlier, unemployment in BiH was lower by 27 678 persons or 7.20%.
Unemployment decreased in Federation of BiH by 4 917 persons (1.7%) and in the Brčko District of BiH by 190 persons (3.63%), but increased in Republika Srpska by 1 204 persons (2.06%)
Job seekers by qualification levels, situation as of 30 September 2022:
98 869 unskilled workers or 27.73%, of whom 58 428 (28.31%) women;
5 540 semi-skilled workers – lower educational background or 1.55%, of whom 2 838 (1.38%) women;
113 030 skilled workers or 31.70%, of whom 53 666 (26.0%) women;
1 073 highly skilled workers or 0.30%, of whom 210 (0.10%) women;
102 418 with secondary education or 28.73%, of whom 66 242 (32.10%) women;
5 887 with two-year post-secondary education or 1.65%, of whom 3 877 (1.88%) women;
29 714 with university degree or 8.33%, of whom 21 127 (10.24 %) women.
A total of 25 922 people were deregistered from public employment services in September, of whom 13 888 were women. Out of this number, there were 14 349 flows into employment, of which 8 505 were women.
At the same time employment terminated for 11 674 people, of whom 5 852 were women. In the same period, employers reported 4 424 vacancies.
According to BiH Agency for Statistics, the number of people in employment in BiH in August 2022 stood at 834 398, of whom 369 244 were women. In comparison to July 2022, the number of people in employment was decreased by 0.3% and the number of employed women decreased by 0.5%.
Registered unemployment rate for August 2022 was 30.2% and was same than in July 2022.
