Overview of Labour Market Situation On 31 July 2015

On 31 July 2015 542,936 persons were registered as unemployed in Bosnia and Herzegovina. As compared to the previous month, the number of the unemployed was increased by 3,719 persons or 0.63%.
Unemployment was increased in the Federation of BiH by 3,719 persons (0.96%) and was down in Republika Srpska by 161 persons (0.12%) and in Brčko District BiH by 134 persons (0.11%).
In occupational structure of job seekers as on 31 July 2015 there were 144,813 unskilled workers or 26.67%, 9,680 semi-skilled workers or 1.78%, 184,234 skilled workers or 33.93%, 3,043 highly skilled workers or 0.56%, 1,516 workers with primary education or 0.28%, 148,396 with secondary education or 27.33%, 7,527 with higher non-university education or 1.39% and 43,727 with university education or 8.05%.
The largest share in registered unemployment is still made up of persons with third level of education – skilled workers with 33.93% and workers with secondary education 27.33%.
The total outflow from PES registers in July amounted to 15,689 persons, out of which 9,337 persons were employed.
At the same time, there were 6,935 persons whose employment terminated while employers registered with PES 3,771 vacancies in this period.
According to data of the BiH Agency for Statistics, in June 2015 the number of persons in paid employment in legal entities in BiH amounted to 714,586 persons, out of which 295,312 were women. As compared to May 2015, the total number of persons in paid employment in legal entities was increased by 0.5%.
Registered unemployment rate in June 2015 was 43.0%. As compared to May 2015 it was down by 0.1 percentage points.
