On 31 October 2012 545,938 persons were registered as unemployed in Bosnia and Herzegovina. As compared to the previous month, the number of the unemployed was increased by 418 persons or 0.08%.

Unemployment was down in the Republika Srpska by 34 persons (0.02%) and in Brčko District BiH by 182 persons (1.49%), and was increased in the Federation of BiH by 634 persons (0.17%),

In occupational structure of job seekers as on 31 October 2012 there were 159,817 unskilled workers or 29.27%, 11,123 semi-skilled workers or 2.04%, 189,657 skilled workers or 34.74%, 3,719 highly skilled workers or 0.68%, 1,841 workers with primary education or 0.34%, 139,447 with secondary education or 25.54%, 7,460 with higher non-university education or 1.37% and 32,874 with university education or 6.02%.

The largest share in registered unemployment is still made up of persons with third level of education – skilled workers with 34.74% and unskilled workers with 29.27%.

The total outflow from PES registers in October amounted to 14,375 persons, out of which 5,811 persons were employed.

At the same time, there were 5,364 persons whose employment terminated while employers registered with PES 2,168 vacancies in this period.

According to data of the BiH Agency for Statistics, in September 2012 the number of persons in paid employment in legal entities in BiH amounted to 688,318 persons, out of which 281,210 were women. As compared to August 2012, the total number of persons in paid employment in legal entities was increased by 0.2%.

Registered unemployment rate in September 2012 was 44.2%. As compared to August 2012 it was down by 0.1 percentage points.
