On 31 October 2015 536,902 persons were registered as unemployed in Bosnia and Herzegovina. As compared to the previous month, the number of the unemployed was down by 2,801 persons or 0.52%.

Unemployment was down in the Federation of BiH by 1,005 persons (0.26%) and in Republika Srpska by 1,933 persons (1.41%) and was increased in Brčko District BiH by 137 persons (1.15%).

In occupational structure of job seekers as on 31 October 2015 there were 142,389 unskilled workers or 26.52%, 9,457 semi-skilled workers or 1.76%, 181,411 skilled workers or 33.79%, 2,875 highly skilled workers or 0.54%, 1,482 workers with primary education or 0.28%, 148,998 with secondary education or 27.75%, 7,325 with higher non-university education or 1.36% and 42,965 with university education or 8.00%.

The largest share in registered unemployment is still made up of persons with third level of education – skilled workers with 33.79% and workers with secondary education 27.75%.

The total outflow from PES registers in October amounted to 19,040 persons, out of which 11,401 persons were employed.

At the same time, there were 6.122 persons whose employment terminated while employers registered with PES 3,727 vacancies in this period.

According to data of the BiH Agency for Statistics, in September 2015 the number of persons in paid employment in legal entities in BiH amounted to 716,230 persons, out of which 295,505 were women. As compared to August 2015, the total number of persons in paid employment in legal entities was increased by 0.5%.

Registered unemployment rate in September 2015 was 43.0%. As compared to August 2015 it was down by 0.2 percentage points.
