On 31 May 2012 536,520
persons
were registered as unemployed in Bosnia and Herzegovina. As compared to the
previous month, the number of the unemployed was down by 1,815 persons
or 0.71%.
Unemployment
was down in the Federation of BiH by 1,106 persons (0.3%), in the Republika
Srpska by 2,133 persons (1.38%), and in Brčko District BiH by 579 persons (4.64%).
In
occupational structure of job seekers as on 31 May 2012 there were 161,412 unskilled workers or 30,08%, 11,320 semi-skilled workers or 2.11%, 186,810
skilled
workers or 34.82%, 3,874 highly skilled
workers or 0.72%, 1,890 workers with primary
education or 0.35%, 134,209 with secondary education or 25.01%, 7,423 with higher non-university education or 1.38%
and 29,582 with
university education or 5.51%.
The
largest share in registered unemployment is still made up of persons with third
level of education – skilled workers with 34.82% and unskilled workers with 30.08%.
The total
outflow from PES registers in April amounted to 13, 854 persons, out of which
8,046 persons
were employed.
At the
same time, there were 5,065 persons whose
employment terminated while employers registered with PES 2,237
vacancies
in this period.
According
to data of the BiH Agency for Statistics, in April 2012 the number of persons
in paid employment in legal entities in BiH amounted to 689,985
persons, out of which 282,991 were
women. As compared to March 2012, the total number of persons in paid
employment in legal entities was increased by 0.2%.
Registered unemployment
rate in April 2012 was 44.1%. As compared to March 2012 it was down by 0.2 percentage points.
