Overview of Labour Market Situation On 31 March 2015

On 31 March 2015 546,779 persons were registered as unemployed in Bosnia and Herzegovina. As compared to the previous month, the number of the unemployed was down by 3,316 persons or 0.60%.
Unemployment was down in the Federation of BiH by 2,124 persons (0.54%) in Republika Srpska by 1,036 persons (0.72%) and Brčko District BiH by 156 persons (1.25%).
In occupational structure of job seekers as on 31 March 2015 there were 148,138 unskilled workers or 27.09%, 9,996 semi-skilled workers or 1.83%, 188,847 skilled workers or 34.54%, 3,163 highly skilled workers or 0.58%, 1,549 workers with primary education or 0.28%, 146,507 with secondary education or 26.79%, 7,449 with higher non-university education or 1.36% and 41,130 with university education or 7.52%.
The largest share in registered unemployment is still made up of persons with third level of education – skilled workers with 34.54% and unskilled workers with 27.09%.
The total outflow from PES registers in March amounted to 15,327 persons, out of which 9,255 persons were employed.
At the same time, there were 5,674 persons whose employment terminated while employers registered with PES 3,648 vacancies in this period.
According to data of the BiH Agency for Statistics, in February 2015 the number of persons in paid employment in legal entities in BiH amounted to 706,411 persons, out of which 293,697 were women. As compared to January 2015, the total number of persons in paid employment in legal entities was down by 0.1%.
Registered unemployment rate in February 2015 was 43,8%. As compared to January 2015 it was same.
