Overview of labour market situation on 31 October 2013

On 31 October 2013 552,707 persons were registered as unemployed in Bosnia and Herzegovina. As compared to the previous month, the number of the unemployed was down by 2,380 persons or 0.43%.
Unemployment was down in the Federation of BiH by 2,002 persons (0.51%), in the Republika Srpska by 376 persons (0.25%), and in the Brčko District BiH by 2 persons (0,02%)
In occupational structure of job seekers as on 31 October 2013 there were 155,029 unskilled workers or 28.05%, 10,737 semi-skilled workers or 1.94%, 190,585 skilled workers or 34.48%, 3,591 highly skilled workers or 0.65%, 1,685 workers with primary education or 0.30%, 144.558 with secondary education or 26.15%, 7,703 with higher non-university education or 1.39% and 38,819 with university education or 7.02%.
The largest share in registered unemployment is still made up of persons with third level of education – skilled workers with 34.48% and unskilled workers with 28.05%.
The total outflow from PES registers in October amounted to 16,913 persons, out of which 10,004 persons were employed.
At the same time, there were 6,154 persons whose employment terminated while employers registered with PES 3,564 vacancies in this period.
