On 31 October 2014 547,590 persons were registered as unemployed in Bosnia and Herzegovina. As compared to the previous month, the number of the unemployed was down by 347 persons or 0.06%.

Unemployment was increased in the Federation of BiH by 790 persons (0.20%), but was down in Republika Srpska by 1,130 persons (0.79%) and Brčko District BiH by 7 persons (0.06%).

In occupational structure of job seekers as on 31 October 2014 there were 148,742 unskilled workers or 27.16%, 10,091 semi-skilled workers or 1.84%, 188,582 skilled workers or 34.44%, 3,219 highly skilled workers or 0.59%, 1,575 workers with primary education or 0.29%, 147,480 with secondary education or 26.93%, 7,493 with higher non-university education or 1.37% and 40,408 with university education or 7.38%.

The largest share in registered unemployment is still made up of persons with third level of education – skilled workers with 34.44% and unskilled workers with 27.16%.

The total outflow from PES registers in October amounted to 16,608 persons, out of which 9,423 persons were employed.

At the same time, there were 6,439 persons whose employment terminated while employers registered with PES 3,841 vacancies in this period.

According to data of the BiH Agency for Statistics, in September 2014 the number of persons in paid employment in legal entities in BiH amounted to 704,724 persons, out of which 290,561 were women. As compared to August 2014, the total number of persons in paid employment in legal entities was increased by 0.4%.

Registered unemployment rate in September 2014 was 43.7%. As compared to August 2014 it was down by 0.3 percentage points.
