The Labour and Employment Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina
organized together with the Tuzla Canton Employment Service and with the
support of the Youth Employment Project and the Government of Switzerland the
third Forum of Employment Services on 28th March 2017 in
Tuzla. The topic of the event was Innovative Active Employment
Measures. Participants in the event have sent a clear message about the
need to link active employment measures to the counselling process and to
significantly improve the profiling of job seekers in order to avoid the
situations where employers get free labour force financed by public
funds. At the end, a necessity of making further reforms of the
education system was highlighted and in the context of adult education, it was
stressed that training makes sense only if directly linked to jobs.
Information on current plans along these lines were shared by representatives
of the Prilika Plus Programme, the Hastor Foundation and the BIT Centre from
Tuzla. Active employment measures must target disadvantaged groups and
those who, if deprived of such measures, could not be placed in a job and as
such would be at risk of becoming socially excluded.
