The 7th Forum of public employment services entitled “Let’s get a job together” was held in Banjaluka today in partnership with the Swiss Embassy in BiH and the Youth Employment Project. Besides Director and Deputy Director of the Labour and Employment Agency of BiH, the Forum was attended by Director of the National Employment Service of the Republic of Serbia, heads of Entity and cantonal employment services and representatives of the Swiss Embassy in BiH and the Youth Employment Project (YEP). The topic of the Forum was the launching of concerted efforts of public employment services and local communities in the implementation of labour market measures in Bosnia and Herzegovina aimed at more effective use of available resources provided for active labour market measures. The Forum was opened by Muamer Bandić, Director of the Labour and Employment Agency of BiH, who said that it was necessary for all actors to take the responsibility in creating jobs and better employment opportunities and that in this context the cooperation of public employment services and local communities and the local employment partnerships was an opportunity to integrate the existing support to employment at different levels.
"Today we are discussing the possibilities of cooperation between public employment services and local communities aimed at offering innovative active labour market policy models. What is particularly interesting are the funding possibilities for start-ups, training, retraining and upskilling programmes, as well as programmes targeting vulnerable target groups in the labour market“, said Director Bandić.
In his address to the gathering, Director Bandić underlined that it was “necessary to create a network of programmes and such an environment where one type of support or incentive scheme does not necessarily excludes the possibility of benefiting from another. The cooperation of public employment services and local communities is essential in the design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the effects of the existing employment support programmes”.
